Oncology Field Medical Director, Hematology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement medical strategy and engagement initiatives for designated customers in AZ, UT, NV, and NM.

• Offer expertise in malignant hematology and Pfizer products to both internal teams and external partners.

• Act as a valuable resource for medical information and insights about customers.

• Create a medical content strategy and execute corresponding Field Medical tactics.

• Collaborate and communicate with medical colleagues at headquarters and other Pfizer Field Medical professionals.

• Present approved medical content regarding Pfizer products and pertinent malignant hematology subjects.

• Identify and engage with prioritized customer segments for medical outreach.

• Address unsolicited medical inquiries from healthcare professionals (HCPs) with precise, scientifically backed information.

• Manage incoming HCP inquiries through the established triage process.

• Collaborate in identifying potential sites for Pfizer-sponsored clinical trials, particularly those serving under-represented patient groups.

• Offer medical support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research process.

• Enhance malignant hematology knowledge through data from congresses and relevant literature.

• Provide leadership for assets.

• Explain study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation concepts to customers.

• Exhibit strong leadership within the territory.

• Engage with local Patient Advocacy Groups and share insights on patient organization structures and requirements.

• Participate in Medical, therapeutic-area, and asset cross-functional committees.

• Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs with clinical and professional associations and societies.

• Mentor colleagues and engage in special projects as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO degree is mandatory.

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in malignant hematology is required.

• Recognized subject matter expertise in malignant hematology among both internal and external stakeholders.

• Must currently reside in AZ, UT, NV, or NM.

• Capability to manage a substantial project volume in a remote setting, prioritize effectively, implement successfully, and exercise strong judgment.

• Ability to work within a matrixed, multidisciplinary team environment.

• Proficiency in leading and managing changes in a dynamic healthcare landscape.

• Agility in adapting to new therapeutic areas, territories, projects, and organizational modifications.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to network across the enterprise.

• Capability to quickly adopt and utilize digital technology and other resources with medical clients.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Must be able to operate a Pfizer company vehicle.

• Willingness to travel by air regularly.

• Flexibility to travel 60–80% of the time.

• Reasonable proximity to an airline hub city is required.

• Availability to work on weekends.

• Deep expertise and/or clinical experience in malignant hematology is preferred.

• An established network of HCPs in the territory is preferred.

• Familiarity with internal and external SOPs, rules, and regulations is preferred.

• Previous experience in Field Medical is preferred.

• Strong clinical and technical skills are necessary.

• Permanent work authorization in the United States is required.

• Sponsorship for a U.S. work visa is not available now or in the future.
