MOBA Trading Analyst – Esports

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Analyze the behavior of MOBA matches to enhance pricing accuracy and market efficiency.

• Perform variance analysis and reviews of trading performance.

• Validate and oversee odds models for MOBA titles in real trading environments.

• Identify model drift, pricing inefficiencies, and performance anomalies affecting P&L.

• Prepare actionable insights to aid traders and inform trading decisions.

• Monitor competitor offerings and pinpoint opportunities for improving trading strategies.

• Analyze MOBA match outcomes, meta shifts, patch changes, and gameplay trends.

• Utilize your esports knowledge to anticipate how rule changes may affect our models, highlighting and resolving potential issues proactively.

• Recommend enhancements to pricing models through new algorithms or by engaging with external feed providers when necessary.

• Convert analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ensure that all processes are documented to a high standard, suitable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Provide support for ad-hoc trading or market analysis requests from the MOBA trading team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in sports betting, trading, or quantitative analysis.

• Proficiency in statistical modeling and data analytics.

• In-depth knowledge of Dota 2, including hero mechanics, item builds, and tournament formats.

• Solid understanding of League of Legends (LoL), encompassing match dynamics, maps, and player behavior.

• Comprehensive understanding of trading fundamentals: pricing, margin, overround, and risk models.

• Exceptional attention to detail and capacity to retain information.

• Strong statistical, mathematical, and analytical skills applicable to pricing and risk assessment.

• Positive ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to meet deadlines.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new environments.

• Passion for competitive gaming and an interest in esports ecosystems.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.

• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and their applications is advantageous.

• Skills in SQL or experience with Python, R, or similar tools is a plus.
