This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Provide EFAP services and additional clinical services as required, which includes confidential counseling, case management, direct clinical services, and assessments.
• Conduct swift and efficient telephonic assessments, utilizing calls in queue and the Meet Now function, addressing client behavior and emotional health, family, wellness, work-related issues, personal matters, and crisis situations.
• Offer practical strategies for clients to implement independently.
• Receive case assignments, formulate treatment plans, document case progress notes, and establish case closure in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.
• Create outlines for specific action plans with each client under consistent supervision.
• Perform comprehensive psycho-social assessments on clients as necessary.
• Execute risk assessments and support interventions for suicide or other risks.
• Document intervention notes and any required tracking documents.
• Uphold established service levels and direct service targets.
• Consult with the Stay at Work Clinical Management team as needed and collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
• Facilitate workshops as required, based on personal competencies and availability.
• May also provide Crisis Management Services (CMS) as needed.
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology.
• Registration in good standing with the relevant governing body as a Social Worker, Psychotherapist, Marriage & Family Therapist, or Canadian Certified Counselor.
• 2 to 3 years of clinical experience addressing a range of mental health and situational issues, including training in solution-oriented and/or cognitive behavioral short-term therapies.
• Preferred experience in crisis hotline, telephonic counseling, and/or EFAP.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with active listening abilities in English; proficiency in French is an asset.
• Proficient in risk assessment, online research, and resourcefulness in locating and accessing emergency and community resources across Canada.
• Empathetic towards client concerns, demonstrating exceptional customer service in person and over the phone.
• Flexible with a creative approach to single-session counseling, passionate about facilitating immediate change by focusing on clients' strengths.
• Acknowledgement of the importance of measurement-based care in supporting patients/clients to guide clinical decision-making; experience is an asset.
• Proficiency in English is required for supporting, communicating, and collaborating with both French and English-speaking clients and colleagues nationally.
