This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Develop and nurture strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and medical teams at treatment centers.
• Actively engage with the medical community to enhance awareness of Krystal Biotech and its innovative gene therapy treatments for underserved patients.
• Serve as the scientific reference for local patient advocacy groups upon request.
• Assist in the development of the country's medical infrastructure and capabilities.
• Play an active role in the country leadership team, leveraging your medical expertise to inform and improve decision-making.
• Deliver effective presentations at scientific conferences and to high-level scientific or business audiences.
• Contribute to the medical affairs strategy for B-VEC or other Krystal Biotech products within the designated country or region.
• Support the scientific communication strategy with a focus on executing the national medical communication and publication plans.
• Take part in the evidence generation plan (beyond Phase II and III clinical studies), emphasizing national-level initiatives, including thorough follow-up on unsolicited investigator-initiated study proposals and assistance with Krystal Biotech-sponsored late-phase research projects.
• Provide scientific education on the appropriate use of B-VEC and other Krystal Biotech products in accordance with approved labels.
• Organize and implement Local and/or Regional Advisory Boards and other scientific meetings.
• Analyze scientific data from literature and clinical studies.
• Collaborate with market access, marketing, and commercial teams, ensuring ongoing scientific training in disease and product-related areas.
• Engage actively in the creation and/or review of reimbursement dossiers and discussions with external stakeholders, in close collaboration with the market access team.
• Responsively address all unsolicited medical inquiries in line with applicable regulations and internal policies.
• Assist in all pharmacovigilance activities, including reporting and following up appropriately on any reported adverse events according to relevant regulations.
• Review all medical and promotional materials for national use to ensure information accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Ensure adherence to all laws and regulations, both in letter and spirit.
• Stay vigilant for any potential compliance issues, seeking guidance through the appropriate channels when such issues are identified.
• Degree in life sciences (MD, PharmD, MSc, PhD or equivalent), with preference for MD and PhD degrees.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a start-up environment.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the capacity to collaborate with others to meet shared goals.
• Strategic mindset, robust analytical abilities, sound business judgment, comprehensive knowledge of scientific information, and the capability to interpret and synthesize scientific data.
• Solid understanding of key pre-clinical and clinical trial design elements, operations, and the interpretation of these activities, as well as regulatory requirements.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to present critical medical and scientific information to various audiences and interact positively with external customers, medical thought leaders, and academic and managed care communities.
• Fluency in English and the native language(s) of the country.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally.
• Extensive and diverse experience in medical affairs, showcasing a clear progression of increasing responsibilities.
• Proven experience in the review and approval of scientific and promotional materials in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Experience with pre-launch and launch medical activities, with a successful track record of prior launches.
• Established history of building and maintaining professional relationships at all organizational levels, both internally and externally.
