Medical Coding Compliance Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate as a member of an audit team to effectively complete client projects

• Retrieve essential medical record documentation from the client's EMR systems

• Perform thorough analysis of medical records to ensure compliance with chart content and documentation standards

• Allocate diagnostic codes based on information extracted from patient medical records

• Employ audit reporting tools to document audit findings and generate reports

• Create reports detailing audit outcomes and recommended corrective action plans

• Facilitate educational and training sessions for both internal teams and clients

• Cultivate and sustain relationships with clients and all key stakeholders

• Stay informed about updates in coding auditing principles and practices

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in CPT and ICD-10 medical coding and auditing

• Comprehensive expertise in E/M coding and auditing

• Required certification as a Certified Risk Coder (CRC) and/or substantial HCC coding experience

• Certification as an AHIMA - Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) or AAPC – CPC is mandatory

• CPMA Certification is necessary

• AAPC - CPC-I Certified Professional Coding Instructor or CHCA Certification from AHCAE is preferred but not essential
