This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Conducts audits of medical charts and records to ensure adherence to federal coding regulations and guidelines.
• Provides training, instruction, and technical assistance to medical providers and support personnel.
• Works in collaboration with hospital compliance and coding teams to maintain consistent training and procedures.
• Aids management in formulating the annual work plan risk assessment and assesses external payer record requests.
• High School diploma or GED with 5 years of relevant experience;
• Certification or eligibility for Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA).
• Possession of at least one of the following credentials: CPC, CCS, CCS-P, COC, RHIA, or RHIT, CHONC.
• A completed degree from an accredited institution that exceeds the minimum educational requirements may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
