This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct comprehensive, high-level secondary reviews of cases to verify accurate and thorough provider documentation.
• Execute CDI audits.
• Evaluate documentation for compliance with ICD-10-CM/PCS, MS-DRG/APR-DRG, and payer standards.
• Detect missed or unsuitable diagnoses, procedures, CCs/MCCs, and opportunities related to severity of illness (SOI) / risk of mortality (ROM).
• Review audit results and create detailed reports highlighting trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
• Offer constructive feedback and training to CDI specialists, coders, and clinical personnel.
• CCDS or CDIP certification is mandatory.
• RN is preferred but not essential.
• At least 3 years of experience in CDI is required.
• Must possess the ability to engage with physicians and hospital staff collaboratively to enhance clinical documentation and drive quality improvement.
