• The Managing Consultant-Regulatory Strategy is responsible for overseeing client engagements from initiation to completion.
• This position entails accountability for the project team's activities and the daily management of client relationships.
• The Managing Consultant-Regulatory Strategy is anticipated to effectively create and oversee work plans, staffing, deadlines, and budgets for multiple intricate projects simultaneously.
• Deliverables are expected to be of high quality and ready for client presentation.
• In this prominent role, you will facilitate team meetings and provide guidance, management, and coaching to consultants by offering constructive feedback on their project involvement and overall career progression.
• The Managing Consultant-Regulatory Strategy collaborates closely with Directors and Partners to keep them informed about project advancements and significant developments.
• In this role, you will join a Solutions team at Guidehouse to assist with the Regulatory Pricing and Strategy solution.
• Your responsibilities on this team will include leading regulatory initiatives for utility clients, such as rate case activities, long-term strategic planning, regulatory support for infrastructure projects, and assistance in policy-making dockets.
• This position also entails supporting retail rate design for utility clients, incorporating modern pricing for new customer programs such as DERs, EVs, net energy metering, and more, alongside traditional power and water rate design.
• Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident due to the nature of client engagements.
• Bachelor’s degree AND Five (5) to Seven (7) years of post-graduation work experience in a related energy or electric utilities field (e.g., utility finance, pricing/rates, regulatory support);
• Or a Master’s degree AND Three (3) to Five (5) years of post-graduation work experience in a related energy or electric utilities field (e.g., utility finance, pricing/rates, regulatory support).
• Proven knowledge of and interest in energy utility policy, regulation, and ratemaking.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to communicate data analytics, data modeling, and visualization to non-technical audiences.
• A proactive and independent working style.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in researching energy policy and regulatory matters, as well as in using spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and presentation software.
• Willingness to travel.
• Ability to work onsite at a Guidehouse Office or Client Office location.
