This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Travel Requirements: This position mandates 70% travel, both domestically and internationally, and should be based in a location with easy access to a major airport.
• Audit Responsibilities: Plan, lead, and/or execute second party QMS audits to ensure compliance with the 91XX and ISO series of standards, as well as RTX and business unit policies & procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations across RTX sites.
• Perform formal duties of a lead auditor, including audit planning alongside the EQA audit planner, acting as the audit team's representative with site leadership, and conducting opening and closing meetings, along with daily debriefs with site personnel.
• Ensure compliance of processes, products, and services with internal standards, regulatory mandates, and industry best practices.
• Prepare and distribute comprehensive audit reports that include findings, non-conformities, and the review and approval of effective corrective actions while ensuring their successful implementation.
• May assist RTX Certification bodies during site surveillance and recertification audits by facilitating audit schedules, logistics, and the resolution of corrective actions.
• May provide support for special audit-related projects as necessary.
• Data Analysis: Aid in the analysis of audit performance to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities for ongoing improvement.
• Employ data analytics to enhance comprehensive audit preparation and planning based on both historical and current performance data.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with regional EQA team leads and the Ops Excellence lead to uphold the audit schedule, ensuring that RTX sites are audited according to the timeline.
• Cultivate collaborative relationships with functional and business leaders to foster a transformative quality organization that aligns with business objectives.
• Engage in weekly Corrective Action Review Board meetings to assess and approve or reject formal corrective actions.
• Special Audits and Assessments: Provide support for special audits (such as suspensions, significant customer complaints, and high-risk sites), independent assessments, and site certifications as required by RTX business units.
• Typically requires a University Degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience, or, in the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in quality assurance, with a minimum of 3 years in QMS auditing specifically within the aerospace, space, and defense sectors.
• Knowledge of the 91XX series and ISO9001 standards is essential.
• A current authenticated AS9100 Lead Audit certification is required (evidence must be provided).
• Capability to obtain certification as an Aerospace Auditor (AA) or Aerospace Experienced Auditor (AEA) within one year.
• The ability to secure and maintain a secret U.S. government-issued security clearance is mandatory.
