This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• The Lead Web Front-end Engineer is tasked with constructing and enhancing Sedgwick’s enterprise web content management system, prioritizing theme architecture, reusable components, accessibility, and performance.
• Responsible for developing and overseeing the web content management system's theme architecture, block systems, and component library.
• Creates and sustains reusable, standards-compliant components that facilitate campaign landing pages, evergreen content, and international content.
• Guarantees that front-end implementations remain scalable as content volume expands.
• Collaborates closely with UX/UI designers to translate page designs into functional web experiences.
• Develops front-end experiences that align with Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse performance objectives.
• Enhances rendering, image management, script loading, and layout stability.
• Ensures that all front-end work adheres to WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
• Works alongside Web Producers to ensure that components are user-friendly, resistant to misuse, and consistent with brand and UX guidelines.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Digital Media, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
• At least eight (8) years of professional front-end development experience or a comparable combination of education and experience is required.
• Proven experience in building custom website themes, block systems, and reusable component libraries within enterprise-scale content management platforms (WordPress preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to deliver accessible, high-performing front-end experiences while supporting campaign-driven websites and collaborating with DevOps or platform teams in a CI/CD environment.
• In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of component-based front-end development patterns and modular design systems.
• A solid comprehension of Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse performance metrics.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and best practices for inclusive design.
• Understanding of SEO fundamentals and digital analytics platforms (Google Analytics) is a plus.
