This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Design, develop, and enhance the developer experience for Meraki's Cloud Engineering teams.
• Collaborate within a team located across the US and UK and engage with other teams in SRE and Cloud Engineering.
• Influence the daily operations of Meraki's cloud, empowering engineers to experiment and create exceptional products with ease, safety, and confidence!
• Spearhead the design and advancement of essential infrastructure for the development, testing, and deployment of cloud applications.
• Take charge of resolving complex issues and debugging both internal and vendor-supplied tools.
• Drive and promote operational excellence throughout the organization.
• Gain insights into the priorities and practices of other engineering teams to craft systems that cater to their needs.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to establish roadmaps and report on productivity improvements and platform health to the SVP level.
• Lead intricate troubleshooting efforts, conduct blameless postmortems, and advocate for sustainable on-call practices across the organization.
• A Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, a Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent related work experience.
• A background in software development, including 5+ years of experience coding in languages such as Ruby or Python.
• Experience in rapid technical adoption, evaluating and integrating new technologies quickly to address critical production issues or security vulnerabilities.
• Proven experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to a team.
• Familiarity with large-scale systems, managing and operating distributed systems comprising 1,000+ nodes or high-concurrency environments with an owner/operator mindset.
• Automation experience in configuration-as-code and infrastructure automation.
• Proficient with modern Unix/Linux operating systems/distributions.
