Lead Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.

📋 Description

• Engaging in hands-on product design, conducting customer interviews, and managing branding efforts (50% of your time)

• Taking ownership of **three product areas** in close partnership with Product & Engineering teams

• Managing and overseeing the **brand** in collaboration with our Staff Designer

• Leading the design team across website, branding, and product design (50% of your time)

• Collaborating closely with **engineering & founders** for efficient communication and quick decision-making

• Developing customer insights: you’ll regularly interact with actual customers (tradespeople, doctors, law firms) and convert insights into design solutions

• Establishing the **design standard** for fonio across product, web, and branding efforts

⛳️ Requirements

• Beyond fundamental skills (**Figma, customer interviews**), possess strong **product & analytics expertise** – you rely on data rather than intuition alone to guide your designs

• **Senior individual contributor with aspirations for leadership:** you have experience leading designers or are keen to do so while maintaining your craft

• **Pragmatism:** a keen ability to present complex functionalities in a simplified manner – you focus on resolving complexity rather than highlighting it

• Familiarity with **design systems** and the ability to scale design efforts across various product areas

• **AI-first mindset:** adept at using contemporary AI tools (such as Cursor, v0, Claude, etc.) to accelerate the transition from concept to prototype by a factor of ten

• **Fluency in German as a native language** (DACH is currently our main market) along with strong English skills for effective communication in an international team
