Lead Internal Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Oversees operational and assurance audit initiatives

• Ensures projects are completed within set timelines and assigned deadlines

• Assesses the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control designs

• Proposes recommendations to foster positive changes that enhance performance

• Discovers opportunities for enhancing control mechanisms

• Records audit findings and collaborates with internal business personnel to formulate action plans

• Provides training to audit staff and participates in large and complex operational audits

• Engages in corporate-wide projects and acts as a subject matter expert for audits

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, insurance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience

• Five years of experience in public accounting, internal audit, or related fields

• Audit-related certification, such as CIA, CISA, or CPA

• Preferably experienced in property and casualty insurance or life insurance accounting, claims, and/or underwriting

• Preferred qualifications include related audit, accounting, or insurance designations
