This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Ensure the confidentiality of patient information while exceeding customer service standards.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of workflow processes and daily operations within the Health Information Management department and the Horizon Patient Folder.
• Communicate essential information to keep staff aligned with the organization's vision, values, and strategies.
• Act as a liaison to the Manager and Supervisor.
• Responsible for orienting and training new staff members.
• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely record processing throughout the Health Information Department.
• Promote and uphold productivity and quality standards for Medical Records personnel.
• Maintain and oversee the Physician suspension log, detailing all known suspension issues related to medical record completion.
• Suggest appropriate action plans when necessary.
• Monitor productivity and quality of work executed within the McKesson Electronic Medical Record concerning record processing and completion.
• Ensure adherence to CMS, JCAHO, PHS Policies, and Medical Staff CMS/JCAHO standards and regulations.
• Maintain reports, records, and statistics accurately.
• Exemplify effective performance levels and appropriate behavior in line with organizational and departmental expectations.
• Distribute and prioritize work fairly among staff members.
• Exhibit problem-solving skills and act as a resource for staff addressing issues.
• Support established objectives for customer response regarding retrieving medical information for internal and external providers.
• Uphold established productivity targets for all responsibilities within the Health Information Management department.
• High School diploma or G.E.D. is mandatory.
• An Associate's degree or 2-3 years of post-secondary education is required; however, relevant experience may be accepted in place of education according to organizational policies.
• Two to four years of relevant experience is required, including at least two years in a Health Information Management role within an acute care hospital environment.
• Proficiency in all aspects of the Health Information Department is essential.
