Lead Engineer – Site Reliability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Merge extensive technical knowledge with team leadership to enhance reliability.

• Guide fellow Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) in addressing intricate operational issues.

• Set technical benchmarks and act as a crucial advisor to engineering management.

• Spearhead cross-functional reliability projects that span various value streams.

• Define and refine SRE best practices, tools, and methodologies for the organization.

• Design enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions that optimize reliability, cost, performance, and security.

• Create and maintain Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets for essential services.

• Direct major incident responses as the incident commander.

• Propel strategic enhancements to observability by identifying shortcomings and executing scalable solutions.

• Develop and execute disaster recovery strategies for critical financial services infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6-10 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (or a related field).

• Demonstrated capability to lead technical teams and steer complex projects to successful completion.

• Advanced knowledge of AWS, with experience in designing large-scale, multi-region architectures.

• Profound expertise in Kubernetes, including advanced functionalities, security, and large-scale operations.

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform.

• Strong software engineering foundation with hands-on experience in Python and/or Go.

• Significant experience with observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Splunk).

• Comprehensive understanding of CI/CD principles.

• Proven history of leading major incidents and conducting effective postmortem analyses.

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical ideas to varied audiences.

• Experience in mentoring engineers and enhancing technical skills within teams.
