This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• The Lead DevOps engineer and their teams optimize the software development lifecycle to enhance developer productivity, accelerate delivery speed, and improve code quality.
• Primary responsibilities encompass automating delivery processes and managing the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
• Oversee the lifecycle management of Jenkins, including backups, upgrades, plugin management, and ensuring pipeline stability.
• Automate database restoration tasks, patch pipelines, backups, and processes for maintaining data integrity.
• Design and implement Guidewire build and deployment pipelines, configuration scripts, and environment management solutions.
• Manage secrets, credentials, and secure runtime configurations across various environments to reduce deployment risks.
• Automate production releases, maintenance tasks, and service orchestration to minimize downtime.
• Sustain and enhance the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) automation processes.
• Apply Infrastructure-as-Code principles utilizing tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Lead and support containerization and orchestration technologies.
• Improve monitoring, alerting, and reliability engineering practices.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams on delivery and architectural practices.
• Provide technical leadership on DevOps best practices, security standards, and updates to the Guidewire platform.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, which includes:
• Deployment and configuration experience in Jenkins.
• Knowledge of network infrastructure, database systems, cloud operations, data center operations, and security protocols.
• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Bash, PHP, Java, SQL, Groovy, or C++.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), with a preference for experience in JAVA.
