Lead Deployment Engineer – Public Sector

Posted Jul 18

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Facilitate business discovery workshops to convert clients' strategic goals into impactful Celonis use cases.

• Work in tandem with the client's IT and business stakeholders to establish project scope, data requirements, and success metrics.

• Ensure the proper configuration and functionality of data connectivity and extraction pipelines, collaborating with specialized resources as needed.

• Guide AI deployment agents (Apollo) in creating data models, process analyses, KPIs, and dashboards—writing clear specifications and validating outputs against business needs.

• Develop and set up Celonis solutions throughout the platform: Process Intelligence Graph, data transformations, process analysis, operational solutions, and AI-enhanced insights.

• Identify process inefficiencies and their root causes using Celonis technology while closely collaborating with the customer.

• Confirm the accuracy, business relevance, and contextual alignment of AI-generated outputs—leveraging domain knowledge where AI may fall short.

• Lead workshops focused on value creation and establish measures to enhance process inefficiencies.

• Define and develop KPIs that assess customer success and quantify business impact.

• Design and implement operational solutions that foster value, encourage adoption, and enhance process adherence.

• Empower key customer users to independently utilize and extend the solution, laying the groundwork for long-term adoption.

• Oversee project results in relation to timelines, scope, and customer expectations.

• Train and demonstrate to customer users, guiding them towards sustained value.

• Record solution design decisions and configurations for future reference and transition.

• Cultivate and maintain extensive expertise in one or more process domains (e.g., Supply Chain, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, IT Service Management) or industry sectors.

• Convert domain knowledge into scalable solution patterns, reference architectures, and best practices for broader team utilization.

• Actively identify and standardize high-value use cases within your domain, collaborating with Product and Business Apps teams to influence the platform roadmap.

• Utilize AI agents as your primary tools—your role is to direct, validate, and refine their outputs rather than manually coding every analysis.

• Demonstrate strong specification and context engineering skills, translating ambiguous business needs into precise instructions for AI agents.

• Commit to continuous learning and adaptation as AI capabilities evolve, experimenting with new methods and sharing successful strategies with peers.

• Balance speed with quality—AI quickens execution, but you are responsible for making judgment calls regarding the appropriateness of the output for each customer.

• Consider sustainable software solutions; while AI agents yield rapid initial results, ensure that the operational solutions you create in Celonis are robust, user-friendly, maintainable, and scalable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in Management or IT consulting, data/solution consulting, or process improvement consulting within software vendors, consulting firms, or system integrators.

• Proficiency in building and configuring solutions on the Celonis platform, including data modeling, process analysis, KPI definition, and automation. Strong skills in PQL, SQL, and Python.

• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, etc.). Ability to clearly articulate specifications, assess AI-generated outputs, and iterate effectively. Experience in prompt or context engineering is a significant advantage.

• Strong understanding and deep expertise (commensurate with seniority level) of enterprise business processes and financial metrics. Familiarity with standard ERPs (SAP, Oracle) and process domains (Inventory Management, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Accounts Payable) is highly desirable.

• Capable of leading customer workshops, presenting findings to management, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering results amid challenges and uncertainties. Comfortable engaging with both technical and business audiences.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on value. Competent in translating business requirements into technical solutions and measuring business impact.

• Eager to continually enhance expertise through experimentation. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and evolving tools.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technology Management, Business Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Fluency in English is essential. Additional languages are advantageous.

• Willingness to travel to customer locations up to 50%, depending on customer requirements and project delivery phases.
