This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ The Lead Clinical Document Specialist (CDS) β Rapid Response acts as a top-tier expert in clinical documentation integrity, tasked with resolving urgent, complex, or significant issues within the CDI program. This position supports strategic initiatives, conducts rapid-cycle audits, and investigates documentation and coding discrepancies in real-time. The Rapid Response Lead collaborates across departments to enhance accurate documentation, coding integrity, and risk adjustment capture while facilitating training, compliance, and data-driven decision-making.
β’ Serve as the main resource for urgent CDI concerns (e.g., payer denials, audits, DRG validation). Address immediate system requirements (e.g., high denial rates, quality issues, new coding regulations).
β’ Mentor front-line CDSs on challenging cases, query formulation, and escalation processes. Analyze documentation and coding data for patterns and areas of improvement.
β’ Spearhead and ensure compliance with strategic CDI initiatives across various markets/systems. Assess strategic outcomes and recommend pathways for implementation.
β’ CCDS Certified
β’ Clinical Documentation Prof. credentialed from the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists, obtained prior to the hire date or job transfer date.
β’ High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of relevant cumulative job-specific experience required. 2 years of leadership or management experience is preferred.
β’ Experience in a leadership role.
β’ Project Management experience.
β’ CCDS Certified
