Lead Billing Data Analyst – Billing, Payments, Subscription Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Oversee, analyze, and present billing and support performance metrics (payments, renewals, refunds, disputes/chargebacks) while identifying emerging trends.

• Develop and maintain data pipelines that ensure accurate, timely, and reliable billing information.

• Utilize statistical techniques to model scenarios, conduct “what-if” analyses, and predict financial risks.

• Design and implement A/B tests and experiments to assess the effectiveness of billing and support initiatives.

• Evaluate the effects of product, marketing, and pricing modifications on billing results, risk behaviors, and customer support metrics.

• Create and sustain dashboards and visual reports that offer clear, real-time insights into billing health and support performance.

• Transform insights into actionable recommendations aimed at decreasing disputes, churn, and operational inefficiencies.

• Document analyses, workflows, definitions, and data logic to promote clarity, reproducibility, and consistency.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts: establish expectations, coach on methodologies, and guarantee high-quality outputs.

• Manage the team’s intake and prioritization processes; oversee task flow and delivery timelines according to business requirements.

• Enhance the team’s expertise in billing and their analytical/technical skills.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Billing, Support, Finance, Product, and Marketing to align metrics, definitions, and processes with risk mitigation objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive expertise in subscription billing: significant experience with payments, renewals, refunds, disputes/chargebacks/TC40 in a recurring-revenue environment (non-negotiable).

• Proficient in advanced SQL: skilled in complex joins, window functions, incremental logic, and writing performance-aware queries.

• Data visualization skills: adept with Omni, Tableau, Power BI, or comparable tools to create dashboards and clearly convey insights.

• Leadership experience: ability to set priorities, allocate tasks, review outputs, and take accountability for a team's results.

• Strong statistical and analytical skills: capable of forecasting, designing experiments, and translating vague business inquiries into structured analyses.

• Familiarity with billing platforms/processors: knowledge of tools such as Stripe, Braintree, Nuvei, or similar.

• Excellent communication skills: able to articulate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Proven track record in cross-functional collaboration: ability to influence decisions using data across various departments.
