Land Tenure Analyst, Geoprocessing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Perform analyses related to land tenure and geospatial properties that are near the railway right-of-way.

• Identify and gather documentation, georeference, digitize (vectorize), and consolidate territorial data.

• Ensure the technical, legal, and cartographic conformity of the data utilized in land regularization and asset management initiatives for the rail network.

• Assess and examine properties that are adjacent to the railway right-of-way throughout the project network.

• Conduct inquiries into property registration records at the relevant real estate registries.

• Consult official land and cadastral information databases.

• Analyze property registration records (matrículas), descriptive memorials, plans, and other ownership documents.

• Execute georeferencing of properties and delineate property boundaries and adjacencies within a GIS framework using QGIS.

• Execute comparative spatial analyses between property boundaries and the railway right-of-way.

• Document methodologies, sources consulted, and technical criteria applied during the analyses.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying Engineering, Cartographic Engineering, Geography, Geoprocessing, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or comparable fields.

• Proficient knowledge in geoprocessing and digital cartography.

• Experience in territorial registration and land tenure analysis.

• Ability to interpret property registration records.

• Skills in georeferencing rural properties.

• Familiarity with the SIGEF/INCRA system.

• Understanding of the Rural Environmental Registry (Cadastro Ambiental Rural - CAR).

• Proficient in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

• Experience with QGIS.

• Ability to read and interpret descriptive memorials.

• Knowledge of coordinate systems and map projections.
