This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to design and implement subsystems and product features that align with strategic goals.
• Take ownership of specific subsystems or feature areas, engaging throughout the entire development lifecycle from concept and construction to testing and deployment.
• Ensure that solutions comply with established engineering standards, best practices, and quality benchmarks.
• Participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities to uphold code quality, reliability, and consistency.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing to facilitate long-term maintainability and onboarding processes.
• Develop and maintain backend services in Kotlin to support a web UI and a suite of remote gateways.
• Design APIs and data flows with a focus on reliability, security, and clarity.
• Contribute to practical architectural decisions and assist in shaping backend patterns and standards.
• Engage with healthcare standards and integrations, including DICOM and HL7.
• A bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, though we welcome candidates with less experience who show strong capability and growth potential.
• Strong backend development experience with Kotlin, or Java with proven depth and a willingness to primarily work in Kotlin.
• Familiarity with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot and/or Ktor.
• Experience in API-first development (REST and/or GraphQL).
• Knowledge or experience with DICOM and HL7 is a plus.
• Previous exposure to environments utilizing technologies such as AWS, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes is advantageous.
• Comfortable working in regulated and compliance-heavy domains that may have significant consequences.
• Experience in working with complex specifications.
