Junior Geoprocessing Analyst – Affirmative Action for Persons with Disabilities

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Accountable for executing geoprocessing tasks utilizing various types of satellite imagery and software related to the acquisition, processing, analysis, and visualization of geospatial data, adhering to the company's methodologies and protocols.

• Conduct image classification and analytical activities for objectives such as land use and land cover mapping, change detection, thematic mapping, among others.

• Evaluate, modify, and digitize/vectorize geographic data.

• Employ Geographic Information System (GIS) tools and other company systems to perform analyses and processing to create geospatial information.

• Generate information to fill spatial databases.

• Support in the development of manuals and documentation for geospatial processes.

• Carry out other related tasks as instructed by management.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Cartographic Engineering, Forest Engineering, Surveying Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Technologist in Geoprocessing, Geography, Biology, or related disciplines.

• Proficient in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

• Experience in interpreting satellite images for land use and land cover classification.

• Fundamental skills in digitizing/vectorization using QGIS or ArcGIS.

• Basic understanding of cartography, remote sensing, and geoprocessing.

• Familiarity with photointerpretation principles and image classification.

• Basic knowledge of Brazilian biomes, including vegetation types and the socio-environmental dynamics associated with each.

• Capability to manage recurring processes systematically, with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong teamwork abilities.
