Japanese Translator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malta.

📋 Description

• Accurately translate and localize written documents, audio recordings, or spoken conversations from English to Japanese and vice versa.

• Create and synchronize subtitles for audio-visual materials and online presentations.

• Research and consistently apply industry-specific and gaming-related terminology.

• Convey the message and meaning of the source text into the target language.

• Proofread and review translated content to ensure linguistic accuracy, consistency, and quality.

• Edit content while preserving its original format (e.g., font and structure).

• Collaborate with project managers, editors, and developers to achieve project objectives and meet deadlines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven professional experience as a gaming translator or localization specialist.

• Native-level proficiency in Japanese and strong professional proficiency in English.

• Excellent understanding of cultural nuances, idiomatic expressions, and gaming terminology in both languages.

• Strong time-management and organizational skills.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Familiarity with WordPress is a plus.

• Experience with content editing, localization, or CAT tools is highly desirable.

• A degree or relevant certification in translation, linguistics, or language studies is beneficial.

• Availability to work 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with the flexibility to meet deadlines.
