Insurance Verification Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Verify patient insurance coverage and assess benefits eligibility utilizing the EPIC Real Time Eligibility module.

• Engage with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to gather essential information.

• Collaborate with clinical staff and operations teams to ensure all necessary documentation is ready for insurance verification.

• Update patient insurance details within the EPIC system as required.

• Follow up on matters related to insurance verification and claim submissions.

• Navigate payer websites and online tools to validate coverage details.

• Address patient billing inquiries and insurance disputes effectively.

• Educate patients on insurance coverage, benefits, and financial responsibilities.

• Maintain precise documentation for reporting and auditing purposes.

• Report trends, issues, and opportunities for optimization to the Revenue Cycle Management leadership.

• Ensure adherence to privacy, confidentiality, and healthcare regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• EPIC Certification is preferred but not mandatory.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in insurance verification is required.

• Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of insurance benefits, eligibility verification, medical terminology, and coding is essential.

• Proficiency in Real Time Eligibility tools and navigating payer portals is necessary.

• Capability to work independently while effectively managing time to achieve productivity goals.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is crucial.

• Ability to multitask and excel in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
