This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Coordinating and assisting with initiatives related to the assessment, processing, and management of Presumptive Medicaid applications
• Collaborating with Health Center teams to identify patients who are uninsured or underinsured
• Ensuring the timely submission of applications along with all necessary documentation
• Monitoring the progress of all enrollments and compiling relevant data
• Providing training to front desk staff across Shared Services
• Keeping track of the status of pending applications and following up promptly
• Developing and nurturing positive relationships with customers
• Associate’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred
• At least one year of experience in a healthcare environment; experience in insurance coverage verification and/or billing preferred
• Certified Application Counselor (CAC) designation; certification must be acquired within six months of job acceptance
• Familiarity with insurance guidelines and government programs (such as Medicaid)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) along with strong interpersonal skills
• Must be organized, capable of prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
