
Infrastructure Analyst – Roadway Data Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Conduct analysis of roadway videos and imagery to detect pavement distresses such as cracking (including alligator, longitudinal, transverse, and block), potholes, rutting, raveling, patching, and other surface defects.
• Categorize infrastructure assets including signage, road markings, guardrails, drainage features, and barriers.
• Utilize pavement condition assessment methodologies to ensure uniform and precise classification.
• Manage the entire data creation process from video preprocessing through tagging, quality assurance, and final delivery.
• Establish, document, and continuously improve classification standards for roadway conditions and assets.
• Develop and uphold quality assurance frameworks that guarantee consistent, high-quality outcomes.
• Serve as the final authority on ambiguous classifications and edge cases.
• Recognize recurring quality issues and implement corrective measures.
• Lead and oversee annotation and review teams to achieve quality and delivery objectives.
• Educate team members on pavement distress identification and classification standards.
• Set performance benchmarks and provide clear feedback to ensure consistency.
• Collaborate closely with Machine Learning teams to align datasets with real-world infrastructure needs.
• Work alongside Customer Success teams to ensure prompt and accurate dataset delivery.
• Convert customer requirements (from transportation agencies and municipalities) into clear internal execution standards.
• Identify opportunities for automating or streamlining tagging, quality assurance, and review workflows.
• Establish systems and processes that accommodate growing dataset volume and complexity.
• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (such as Transportation Engineering, Construction Management, or similar).
• Familiarity with various pavement types, road construction techniques, and infrastructure assessment principles.
• Understanding of pavement distress types and classification (including cracks, potholes, and surface deterioration).
• Strong attention to detail and the capability to make consistent, judgment-based classifications.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for data quality outcomes.
• Experience in pavement condition assessment, road inspections, or infrastructure surveys.
• Coursework or hands-on experience in pavement engineering, highway design, or transportation infrastructure.
• Proficiency with GIS, geospatial data, or mapping tools.
• Knowledge of pavement management systems (PMS) or asset management methodologies.
• Previous experience in data annotation, quality assurance, or technical review processes.
• Experience in leading or managing operational teams (including annotators, reviewers, or QA).
• Experience engaging with technical stakeholders or engineering teams.
• Understanding of machine learning data labeling concepts.
• Project management experience.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
• Experience with spreadsheet tools (Google Sheets or Excel).
• Comfort with learning new software platforms.
• Familiarity with GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth).
• Experience with annotation or labeling platforms.
• Familiarity with project management tools (Asana, Monday, Jira).
• Experience with data quality assurance or review tools.
