This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
β’ Evaluates patient records to ensure accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, CPT Codes, POA assignment, and MS-DRG assignment in accordance with established guidelines, scoring appropriately when applicable.
β’ Collaborates with CDIS on DRG assignments and provides education on missed query opportunities.
β’ Assesses discharge summaries for coding precision.
β’ Handles appeals for RAC DRG review charts.
β’ Technical Diploma/Certificate in Coding is required.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of inpatient and/or outpatient coding experience is required.
β’ Familiarity with regulatory issues pertaining to Medicare and other third-party payers as they relate to hospital and ambulatory coding and billing is required.
β’ Certified Coding Specialist (CCS_AHIMA) is required, or
β’ Certified Professional Coder (CPC_AAPC) is required, or
β’ Certified Coding Associate (CCA_AHIMA) is required.
