This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the designated compliance officer responsible for enterprise-wide compliance management, including BSA/AML/OFAC policies, procedures, and program documentation.
• Keep abreast of federal and state regulatory changes, evaluate their impact on the business, advise stakeholders on emerging risks, and implement controls to address them.
• Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive and scalable Enterprise Risk and Compliance program from start to finish.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments and policy analyses to identify BSA/AML and other risk exposures, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop mitigating controls and monitoring strategies.
• Create end-to-end banking-as-a-service compliance programs that encompass customer onboarding, ongoing risk assessments, financial transaction reviews, and reporting.
• Manage relationships with bank partners and supervise partner due diligence along with cannabis-specific program evaluations.
• Lead essential organizational audits and oversee compliance risk assessments of third-party vendors.
• Build, mentor, and expand a high-performing compliance team.
• Design and deliver compliance training for product, operations, and client-facing teams.
• Drive the selection and implementation of specific compliance tools, including AML transaction monitoring, verifications, and case management platforms.
• Promote a culture of integrity and proactive risk management within a high-growth environment.
• A minimum of 8 years of compliance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused on compliance and BSA/AML.
• Profound understanding of compliance requirements and AML within highly regulated industries.
• Proven experience in banking or financial services, particularly within high-risk businesses.
• Skilled in developing and mentoring a team that supports the design and execution of the risk and compliance framework.
• A successful track record in a fintech, payments company, neobank, or tech-oriented business managing regulatory obligations and relationships with bank partners.
• Exceptional communication, influence, and cross-functional leadership abilities.
• At least 4 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
