This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on international customs and import regulations, encompassing tariff classification, valuation, country of origin rules, duty programs, and requirements for import documentation.
• Keep track of and analyze regulatory changes, evaluate their impact on business, and address compliance risks while advising leadership on necessary actions and implementation strategies.
• Assist in responding to inquiries from global customs authorities.
• Create, maintain, and improve corporate import compliance policies, procedures, and standards.
• Aid in conducting internal compliance audits, identifying risk areas, and collaborating with partners to implement corrective measures and sustainable process enhancements.
• Play a role in designing, executing, and monitoring the global import compliance program.
• Offer guidance on customs brokerage, clearance activities, post-entry corrections, and resolution of import-related challenges.
• Facilitate participation in global customs initiatives, including CTPAT, AEO, PIP, and other special trade programs (e.g., bonded warehouses, free trade zones).
• Collaborate with regional trade compliance managers and designated import contacts to ensure the application of regulatory requirements on a global scale.
• Work alongside operations, logistics, supply chain, legal, and finance teams to raise awareness of import requirements and ensure alignment with our objectives.
• Influence decision-making across global, cross-functional teams without having direct authority.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, either now or in the future, for this job opening.
• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Law, Finance, or a related field.
• Over 7 years of progressive experience in global trade compliance within a multinational corporation.
• U.S. Customs Broker license.
• Proven expertise in customs regulations, including HTS classification, valuation principles, country of origin determination, Incoterms, and import documentation.
• Experience in developing, implementing, and auditing corporate import compliance programs.
• Proven ability to manage relationships with customs brokers, government authorities, and trade agencies.
• Hands-on experience with customs programs such as CTPAT, AEO, PIP, free trade zones, or bonded warehouses.
• Familiarity with trade compliance systems like SAP GTS, IFS, or equivalent solutions.
• Expertise in relationship management within a global matrixed environment.
• Ability to balance global process consistency with local regulatory and operational requirements.
