General Virtual Assistant – Social Media, Video Editing, Author Marketing Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Transform existing long-form Instagram videos into engaging short-form content.

• Adapt each long-form video into 1–4 shorter clips as suitable.

• Initially produce 2 short-form videos per week, with the possibility of increasing to 3.

• Optimize content for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and other short-form venues.

• Enhance viewer engagement through effective hooks, seamless cuts, captions, and pacing aligned with current trends.

• Generate promotional posts for books, carousel posts, announcements for events or readings, and excerpts or quotes from books.

• Conceptualize and craft advertisements in a book promotion style.

• Ensure content is in line with and collaboratively refined to fit the client’s developing brand style.

• Conduct research on libraries and schools within the Austin, Texas region.

• Create contact lists for school administrators, librarians, and coordinators of programs or events.

• Assist in email and influencer outreach using templates provided by the client.

• Monitor the status of outreach efforts and track responses.

• Investigate vendor events, book fairs, and community gatherings.

• Gather information on event costs, locations, estimated foot traffic, dates, and relevance.

• Aid in assessing the potential return on investment (ROI) for events.

• Research and compare Amazon Seller Central with Amazon KDP.

• Summarize the advantages and disadvantages to assist the client in their publishing decisions.

• Communicate through Slack or chat-based messaging, along with occasional calls.

• Demonstrated experience in short-form video editing.

• Knowledge of social media trends and strategies for engagement.

• Excellent attention to detail and a knack for storytelling flow.

• Ability to take initiative while effectively incorporating feedback.

• Highly organized and dependable in a low-hour, high-impact role.

• Experience assisting creators, authors, or small brands is advantageous.

• Familiarity with tools such as CapCut, Canva Pro, and possibly Adobe applications.

• Flexibility to work a variable schedule.

• Availability for occasional live calls around 8:00 AM CST.

• Submission of a portfolio and resume is required for review.

• Possible trial edit or task may be requested.
