Freelance News Writer – GTA 6 Bible

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Produce daily short-form articles on GTA 6 and Rockstar news, covering trailers, release and pre-load information, vehicle details, character insights, map specifics, and official announcements.

• Research and write engaging human interest and true crime narratives related to GTA for syndication.

• Generate and propose stories from primary sources, including the Rockstar Newswire, Take-Two investor reports, modifications in store listings, ratings boards, r/GTA6, and GTAForums.

• Create two headlines for each article: one optimized for search and another for social feed visibility.

• Maintain factual accuracy, particularly for stories involving identified individuals or criminal issues.

• Track news cycles and respond promptly to significant developments, such as Trailer 3, the pre-load on November 12, and the launch on November 19.

• Publish content on WordPress and NewsBreak, including selecting featured images and managing internal links.

• Provide a brief introduction, resume or portfolio, 3–5 relevant news writing samples, and examples of self-generated stories.

• Undertake a brief paid test assignment if selected for consideration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in covering news, entertainment, or cultural topics swiftly.

• Background in writing for syndication platforms like NewsBreak, MSN, SmartNews, Yahoo, or Google Discover.

• Knowledge of the distinctions between syndication platforms and search engines.

• Capability to transform local or niche stories into content with broader appeal.

• Meticulous attribution skills and the ability to trace claims back to original documents.

• High-quality writing with minimal need for edits, ensuring clean copy in English.

• Familiarity with SEO practices, WordPress, Trello, Slack, and other industry-standard tools.

• Solid understanding of the GTA series.

• Dependable availability during breaking news situations.

• Preferred: Experience in local news, tabloids, or true crime reporting.

• Preferred: Skill in choosing compelling featured images.

• Preferred: Capability to propose unique angles beyond the daily news cycle.

• 3–5 relevant news writing samples are mandatory for application.
