Freelance Garment Technician, Pattern Maker for Functional Underwear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate current functional shirts and underwear products regarding fit, cut, comfort, and functionality.

• Enhance patterns, grading, and size charts across various sizes.

• Formulate specific improvement suggestions for existing products.

• Design, modify, and assess pattern templates.

• Independently construct patterns and prototypes to effectively test new pattern solutions.

• Evaluate fit, stretch behavior, construction, seams, and overall wearing comfort.

• Assist in creating and updating technical product documentation.

• Collaborate closely with our founding team on product specifications, target demographics, and implementation strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in garment technology, pattern development, pattern construction, or pattern making.

• In-depth understanding of close-fitting, elastic garments.

• Familiarity with jersey, stretch fabrics, underwear, sportswear, activewear, shapewear, or related product categories.

• Proficient in managing grading, size charts, and fit optimization.

• Ability to sew and independently test patterns/prototypes is a plus.

• Technical knowledge of construction, seams, material behavior, and comfort in wear.

• Organized, solution-focused, and dependable work style.

• Experience with functional apparel is advantageous.

• Knowledge of tech packs, production documentation, or supplier communication is beneficial.
