This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
β’ Perform bidirectional translations (CN to JP) for narrative scripts and dialogues, UI components, system documentation, and marketing/promotional materials.
β’ Ensure linguistic consistency with game lore, character personas, and the target player demographics.
β’ Collaborate with QA teams to address terminology conflicts and challenges related to cultural adaptation.
β’ Create and maintain centralized terminology databases (e.g., characters, skills, items).
β’ Professional fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
β’ Native-level proficiency in Japanese.
β’ Cultural fluency in the target regions, including gaming subcultures and the Gen-Z lexicon.
β’ In-depth cultural awareness of the target regions.
β’ Minimum of 1 year experience in game localization (portfolio required).
β’ Passionate gamer with knowledge of RPG/ACT/MMO text conventions.
β’ Advanced proficiency in CAT tools (Trados/memoQ; terminology management).
β’ Ability to transcreate humor, slang, and cultural metaphors effectively.
β’ Strict compliance with NDAs and capacity to deliver over 2,000 words per day under deadlines.
β’ Work entirely remotely.

β’ Standardized translation process utilizing an online translation platform.
