• Serve as the data engineering authority on the Internal Efficiencies team, working in close collaboration with fellow engineers, data scientists, product and solution experts, and customer success leaders to achieve user and customer objectives.
• Play a key role in defining data engineering deliverables from start to finish, ensuring prompt delivery and high-quality results.
• Utilize agentic AI tools on a daily basis to produce code and enhance your productivity.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with all members of the Internal Efficiencies team, as well as engineering subject matter experts across Viaduct.
• Collaborate with customer success and product/solution team members to assess user and customer requirements and convert them into actionable analytics solutions.
• Meet deliverables with both quality and speed, contributing new features to solutions and products, refactoring code, enhancing tests, automating manual processes, and handling other engineering responsibilities.
• Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies, applying them to enhance our software.
• Proven experience managing a project from design through to implementation.
• A minimum of 3 years of full-time experience as a data engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Scala, Java, C++, and SQL.
• Comfortable in exploring data and answering inquiries using SQL.
• Experience utilizing agentic AI tools for code delivery (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor).
• A demonstrated background with several of the following: (a) Spark or similar technologies, (b) workflow schedulers (Airflow, Prefect, Argo, etc.), (c) distributed file systems (HDFS, S3, etc.), (d) open-source data ecosystem tools (Apache, CNCF, etc.), (e) incremental or real-time processing (Delta Lake, Apache Hudi, Kafka Stream, Spark Streaming, etc.).
• Familiarity with automating data engineering tasks and workflows using command-line or GUI tools (e.g., Linux OS, Gumloop, Airbyte, ADF, etc.).
• Fluent in business English and adept at working in an international environment across various geographies and time zones.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science).
• Compensation: Competitive base salary, short-term incentive (annual bonus), and long-term incentive (long-term upside).
• Travel: 0-20% (with a significant occasional requirement for international travel).
