This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Conduct virtual and on-site investigations by visiting the residences of policyholders to evaluate property damage, ascertain liability, assess the extent of loss, and negotiate equitable settlements.
• Utilize claims handling software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess claims-related damages and produce estimates in a paperless setting.
• Analyze and report on potential subrogation opportunities.
• Execute tasks independently, with work directly influencing management decisions.
• Serve as a company representative during public interactions, upholding a professional demeanor in line with management expectations.
• Regularly interact with a diverse range of stakeholders, including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other relevant parties.
• Apply strong customer service skills to negotiate settlements with policyholders for claims.
• High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Excellent customer service experience is essential, preferably in a retail setting.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable and preferred.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Competent in using smartphones and applications.
• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage in-depth to understand how coverage applies to specific losses.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to be bonded.
• Candidates must be willing and able to: climb ladders to inspect roofs and be comfortable working on rooftops multiple times a day.
• Able to work in small, confined spaces that may be damaged, such as attics and crawlspaces.
