This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Carry out both virtual and in-person investigations by visiting policyholders’ homes to evaluate property damage, establish liability, assess the extent of loss, and negotiate just settlements.
• Utilize claims handling software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess claims-related damage and produce estimates in a paperless setting.
• Analyze and report on potential subrogation opportunities.
• Notify appropriate state and industry agencies of incidents involving theft, fraud, or arson.
• Execute tasks independently, with work having a direct effect on management decisions.
• Serve as a company representative during public engagements, upholding a professional demeanor in line with management expectations.
• Regularly interact with a diverse range of stakeholders, including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other relevant parties.
• Employ strong customer service skills to negotiate settlements with policyholders.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Advocate for safety at all times and adhere to safety/ergonomic standards as outlined in relevant company manuals.
• Employees assigned to the Catastrophe team will need to travel away from their homes for a specified duration, typically 2-3 days. Although this is not a CAT-specific role, hires should be ready to commit to 1–3 CAT deployments annually.
• A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Exceptional customer service experience, ideally in a retail setting.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable and preferred.
• Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Computer proficiency: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Familiarity with smartphones and applications.
• A willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage to understand how coverage applies to specific losses.
• An outgoing personality that enjoys engaging with a diverse array of individuals, including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, and fraud investigators.
• A valid driver's license and bondable status.
• Final candidates will also undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check as this position may involve the use of a company vehicle.
