Field Medical Director, Oncology/Hematology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement medical strategies and engage with assigned customers within the Southwest region (AZ, UT, NV, NM).

• Offer expertise in malignant hematology therapeutic areas and Pfizer products to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Act as a source of medical information and customer insights.

• Provide approved medical content and address unsolicited HCP medical inquiries in a compliant manner.

• Manage incoming HCP questions through established triage processes.

• Collaborate with Oncology R&D and Global Product Development to pinpoint clinical trial sites, especially those serving under-represented populations.

• Offer medical support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research process.

• Enhance expertise in malignant hematology by reviewing congress data and disease-state literature.

• Lead asset communication regarding study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation.

• Take charge of the territory and liaise with local Patient Advocacy Groups.

• Provide insights on the structures, capabilities, and population needs of patient organizations.

• Participate in medical, therapeutic-area, and asset cross-functional committees.

• Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs at clinical and professional associations and societies.

• Mentor new partners, advisory board members, and study leaders.

• Engage in special projects as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in a health science is required.

• PharmD/PhD with 5+ years of experience, MBA/MSc with 7+ years of experience, or BA/BSc with 8+ years of experience.

• Recognized subject matter expertise in malignant hematology among both internal and external stakeholders.

• Must reside in Arizona, Utah, Nevada, or New Mexico, preferably in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area.

• Capable of managing a substantial project volume in a remote setting and setting priorities effectively.

• Ability to operate within a matrixed, multidisciplinary team.

• Proficient in leading and managing change within a dynamic healthcare environment.

• Agility in adapting to new therapeutic areas, territories, projects, and organizational changes.

• Strong problem-solving skills and capacity to network across the enterprise.

• Quick to adopt and utilize digital technology and record medical interactions.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capability to operate a Pfizer company vehicle and travel regularly by air.

• Proximity to an airline hub city is required.

• Willingness to travel 60–80% of the time.

• Availability to work weekends as necessary for advisory boards, regional meetings, and congresses.

• Must have permanent U.S. work authorization; candidates need to be authorized to work in the U.S. by any employer.

• U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

• A PharmD, PhD, or equivalent terminal doctoral degree is highly preferred.

• Preferred qualifications include deep expertise and/or clinical experience in malignant hematology.

• An established network of HCPs in the territory is preferred.

• Familiarity with Pfizer and customer interaction SOPs, rules, and regulations is preferred.

• Previous experience in Field Medical is preferred.

• Strong clinical and technical skills.

• Leadership, collaboration, mentoring, coaching, and conflict management skills are essential.
