This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of personnel security clearances, encompassing initiations, sponsorships, reinvestigations, and terminations utilizing DISS/NBIS.
• Act as the main point of contact with DCSA and other relevant security authorities.
• Facilitate security briefings, debriefings, foreign travel briefings, and annual security awareness training sessions.
• Keep accurate records of cleared employees, visitor certifications, and foreign national contacts.
• Oversee and maintain AppGate's Facility Clearance in alignment with DCSA guidance and NISPOM standards.
• Supervise physical security measures, including access management, classified storage, open storage areas, and classified destruction protocols.
• Conduct and document regular self-inspections while tracking corrective action plans.
• Manage classified visit certifications and coordinate the access of cleared personnel to government and contractor facilities.
• Ensure the appropriate handling, transmission, storage, and disposal of classified information and CUI.
• Assist program managers in reviewing DD Form 254s for both new and existing contracts.
• Collaborate with IT and DevSecOps teams to ensure that classified and sensitive program environments adhere to security standards.
• Work with government Program Security Officers on program-specific requirements and deliverables.
• Maintain compliance with NISPOM, ITAR, EAR, and federal security directives.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and SOPs tailored for a software product company.
• Investigate and report security incidents and violations, perform root cause analyses, and address issues.
• Support CMMC assessments, government inspections, and contract-mandated security audits.
• Stay updated on federal security regulations and enhance AppGate's security program accordingly.
• Active Secret clearance is mandatory; TS or TS/SCI is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial security or as an FSO with a cleared defense contractor or government entity.
• Profound understanding of NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117) and DCSA processes.
• Practical experience with DISS, NBIS, or equivalent personnel security systems.
• Experience in managing an FCL and executing DCSA self-inspections.
• FSO Certification through DCSA's Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) or an equivalent certification.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex security requirements to software engineers and executives.
• Bachelor's degree in security management, information assurance, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Preferred: Previous FSO or security management experience in a software, SaaS, or cybersecurity firm.
• Preferred: Familiarity with CMMC Level 2/3 requirements and C3PAO assessment processes.
• Preferred: Understanding of AWS GovCloud or Azure Government in classified or CUI-handling programs.
• Preferred: Experience with ITAR/EAR export control compliance, including technology control plans.
• Preferred: Certification as OPSEC Coordinator or experience with SAP security.
• Preferred: CPP, PSP, or SAPPC certification.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Zero Trust concepts and federal security program requirements.
