Experienced Information Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Conduct scans (agent/network), analyze results (CVEs, CVSS), identify systemic issues, and perform risk assessments for intricate environments (cloud, mobile, DB, OS).

• Define VM policies, enhance posture, guide remediation efforts, spearhead risk reduction initiatives, and act as the subject matter expert for complex security vulnerability challenges.

• Create reports, dashboards, and alerts to automate tasks (Python, PowerShell) and monitor metrics.

• Monitor the threat landscape, analyze new vulnerabilities (NVD, MITRE), and offer proactive guidance.

• Develop, test, and operate firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus systems, and software deployment tools.

• Provide intricate engineering analysis and support for firewalls, routers, networks, and operating systems.

• Conduct and evaluate vulnerability scans within a multi-platform, large enterprise environment.

• Respond to and initiate corrective actions regarding security violations, unauthorized access attempts, virus infections that may impact the network, or any other security-affecting events.

• Oversee the user access process to ensure the operational integrity of the system.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in vulnerability management/infosec (or equivalent experience).

• Expert knowledge of scanners (Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7).

• Proficiency in authenticated scanning, agent versus network scanning, discovery, and segmentation constraints.

• Proficiency in CSPM.

• Familiarity with operating systems (Win/Linux/macOS), cloud security, databases, and networking.

• Proficiency in CVE, CVSS, MITRE ATT&CK, FISMA, and CISA directives.

• Strong skills in risk analysis, root cause identification, and data analysis.

• Excellent communication, leadership skills, and the ability to explain complex risks to varied audiences.
