Exchange and eDiscovery Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Act as a subject matter authority on M365 Exchange and enterprise eDiscovery Purview.

• Develop and enhance search queries, filters, and analytics workflows across various eDiscovery platforms (including Purview and RelativityOne).

• Spearhead security and email-related projects from conception to execution, encompassing selection, recommendation, design, testing, and implementation.

• Provide support, analysis, and resolution for escalated support incidents from our help desk concerning Microsoft Exchange Online, Outlook, Email Security (Phishing, Malware, SPAM), Microsoft Teams (including voice), telecommunications services, video conferencing, and other communication solutions.

• Carry out solution administration responsibilities, such as reviewing and monitoring event logs/performance KPIs and baselines.

• Utilize Microsoft Purview admin center and Windows PowerShell cmdlets to manage discovery operations and promote ongoing process improvement.

• Conduct advanced content searches, keyword queries, and analytics to guarantee accurate, relevant, and defensible discovery outcomes.

• Assist or supervise the technical execution of legal holds, ensuring proper custodial identification and data preservation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of pertinent IT experience supporting Microsoft 365 Exchange and Purview.

• Proficient knowledge of PowerShell.

• Extensive experience utilizing Microsoft Purview eDiscovery (Standard and Premium), retention policies, compliance workflows, and legal hold mechanisms within M365.

• Experience in creating Keyword Query Language (KeyQL) for eDiscovery searches.

• Strong comprehension of defensible data handling, chain-of-custody, and principles of regulatory compliance.

• Understanding of external email routing and configuration, including MX records, SPF, DMARC, DKIM, etc.

• Familiarity with Entra ID and the Microsoft 365 / M365 suite of solutions.

• Excellent documentation, analytical, and stakeholder communication abilities.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
