EU Spanish Linguist, Translator – Gaming

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Execute translation assignments, encompassing in-game text, user interface, legally significant documents, and supporting materials according to client guidelines, First Party terminology, and established tone and style.

• Conduct editorial tasks, including the revision and review of translations to guarantee linguistic precision, consistency, and a natural flow.

• Engage in creative translation and localization efforts, such as creating, maintaining, and updating glossaries, style guides, and character profiles within established ownership structures.

• Adhere to project timelines and productivity targets while ensuring high quality within a specified localization pipeline.

• Maintain consistency in tone, voice, and terminology across all content and game elements.

• Collaborate with fellow translators to evaluate work for cohesion and logical content progression.

• Identify and address localization challenges, including issues raised during review and bugs discovered during testing.

• Utilize translation and project management tools (e.g., memoQ, JIRA, client-specific systems) to monitor progress and ensure workflow transparency.

• Log, track, and respond to localization inquiries in line with team procedures.

• Assist in onboarding new translators by providing guidance on language-specific tools and project standards.

• Support candidate test assessments and contribute to test updates as necessary.

• Collaborate closely with clients on daily language matters, maintaining constant communication to ensure content alignment.

• Adapt flexibly to changing project demands and priorities.

• Ensure team compliance with company Security, Confidentiality, and Health & Safety policies.

• Adhere to IT and HR protocols and ensure compliance across the team.

• Uphold ethical business practices, ensuring all actions reflect the company's values.


⛳️ Requirements

• Exceptional proficiency in both Spanish and English.

• Strong cultural understanding of Spanish markets.

• 1–3 years of experience in translation, localization, or related language services (game localization experience preferred).

• Solid command of CAT tools (e.g., memoQ, Trados, XTM, client-specific systems) and familiarity with workflow platforms (e.g., JIRA, Plunet).

• Excellent linguistic accuracy and attention to detail, with a strong emphasis on consistency.

• Collaborative mindset with the capability to effectively manage independent tasks.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; adaptable to feedback and changing project requirements.

• Comfortable working under tight deadlines with a positive, proactive attitude.

• Committed to upholding company policies, ISO quality standards, GDPR, and client confidentiality.

• Responsible work ethic, promoting safe and supportive working practices.

• Candidate must be located in Portugal.
