
Enterprise Data Architect – Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Take charge of the architecture, implementation, and delivery of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
• Possess expertise in middleware and ETL technologies, with the capability to collaborate with vendors for capability implementation.
• Have a thorough understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) technologies and their integration into organizational operational processes.
• Convert business requirements into a scalable data architecture and actionable technical strategies.
• Establish and uphold data standards, lineage, and attribute mapping across various systems.
• Design both logical and dimensional data models to facilitate enterprise reporting and analytics.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary and metadata repository.
• Perform detailed data analysis using SQL and other tools to verify and audit data quality.
• Ensure compliance with best practices in data governance, security, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate closely with functional partners and IT business analysts to grasp requirements and transform them into technical solutions.
• Clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Work in partnership with other IT teams to guarantee smooth integration across systems and platforms.
• Operate independently and proactively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a technical or business discipline.
• 10-15 years of experience with the following tools and concepts.
• Experience with databases such as SQL Server or Oracle.
• Familiarity with ETL or Middleware software, such as Informatica or Mulesoft.
• Experience with columnar databases, including Snowflake or Vertica.
• Proficiency in data modeling tools like ERWin or ER Studio.
• Ability to process large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Knowledge of data movement and transformation technologies.
• Experience with version control software such as TFS, CVS, or GIT (preferred).
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid business and technical insight.
• Strong time management, organizational, and execution skills.
• Willingness and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong collaboration skills necessary to work effectively across a diverse group, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
• Self-motivated individual who takes the initiative to complete tasks.
• Prior experience with SAP functional modules (Finance/Accounting, Supply Chain, Materials Management, Warehouse Management, Procure to Pay) is highly desirable.
