This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

• Develop and implement the technical strategy for trust and safety initiatives, ensuring it aligns with Airbnb’s long-term objectives.

• Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team, while cultivating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and partner engineering teams to create effective, scalable solutions.

• Oversee end-to-end project execution, guaranteeing high-quality delivery throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities clearly to senior leadership and stakeholders.

• Advocate for best practices in reliability, scalability, and incident response, ensuring operational readiness for critical systems.

• Keep abreast of trends in Trust & Safety, and promote the adoption of best practices and innovations within the team.

• Collaborate with global counterparts to ensure that the initiatives of the India team align with broader Trust & Safety objectives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Over 10 years of industry experience, including 5–7+ years in engineering management.

• Proven success in delivering large-scale, secure, and reliable systems.

• Strong background in leading technical strategy and developing scalable engineering, data, or machine learning systems.

• Experience in leading AI/ML teams and delivering AI-powered solutions is highly advantageous.

• Proficient in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, Ruby).

• Demonstrated ability to attract and retain top-tier engineering talent.

• Exceptional communicator—capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience in establishing multi-year strategies and aligning various stakeholders.

• Background in fast-paced, agile environments working with cross-functional teams.

• A strong passion for trust, safety, and fostering positive social impact.
