This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Oversee and secure enterprise email gateway systems.
• Administer and maintain Cisco IronPort Secure Email Gateway (SEG) appliances.
• Manage AsyncOS configurations, upgrades, and overall system performance.
• Implement and enforce email security protocols, including anti-spam, anti-malware, and data loss prevention measures.
• Monitor, analyze, and respond to email threats and incidents effectively.
• Conduct message tracking, reporting, and log analysis.
• Apply firmware updates, patches, and security enhancements as needed.
• Support and manage Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) environments.
• Assist with email platform integration, migration, or coexistence strategies.
• Collaborate with enterprise teams to ensure secure mail flow and alignment with policies.
• Install and configure network hardware and the supporting infrastructure.
• Utilize ServiceNow for managing incidents, changes, and requests.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to email delivery, connectivity, and security.
• Conduct log analysis and root cause investigations as required.
• Monitor system health and respond promptly to alerts and incidents.
• Partner with Cybersecurity teams on threat mitigation and response strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, configurations, and procedures related to the system.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Network, and Enterprise Messaging teams effectively.
• Support audits, compliance requirements, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in system administration, email security, or network engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco IronPort / Email Security Appliance (ESA).
• Strong proficiency in AsyncOS.
• Knowledge of SMTP, MIME, and internet message formats.
• Experience in developing email security policies and threat protection mechanisms.
• Familiarity with both Command Line Interface (CLI) and web-based GUI administration.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace administration.
• Proficiency in Windows 11 and enterprise environments.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of backup solutions such as Arcserve.
• Understanding of network fundamentals and TCP/IP protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with log analysis, monitoring tools, and performance optimization.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, and networks.
