This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Taiwan.
• Serve as the main technical liaison for ODM partners implementing Axelera PCIe accelerator cards, M.2 modules, and AI SBCs within their systems.
• Assist partners with hardware integration by addressing compatibility, power budget, cooling requirements, mechanical clearances, and BIOS/firmware configurations.
• Provide support for partner bring-up activities, including OS/driver installation, Voyager SDK deployment, and initial inference validation on customer platforms.
• Create and update integration guides, application notes, and FAQs specifically designed for key ODM clients.
• Offer on-site or remote assistance to Contract Manufacturers (CMs) during Mass Production Introduction (MPI) phases, including first-article inspections and pilot-run evaluations.
• Evaluate and validate CM production testing procedures in accordance with Axelera ATE/ICT standards; escalate any discrepancies to the AIS engineering team.
• Manage in-field production defect triage: gather failure evidence, replicate issues in the lab, and collaborate with R&D engineers to conduct root-cause analysis.
• Keep a defect log and monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) until resolution.
• Collaborate with power component suppliers (DCDC converters, PMUs, DDR, passive components) regarding qualification inquiries and field-reported issues.
• Conduct bench characterization of power-related issues (efficiency, regulation, transient response) and relay findings to internal power integrity engineers.
• Assist with evaluations of BOM changes for sourced alternatives, supplying electrical equivalency data to the AIS team.
• Contribute to the qualification process of new components (power ICs, passives, memory, connectors) for Axelera's in-house hardware products, utilizing proximity to the Taiwan supply chain and key component manufacturers.
• Assess pin-compatible or functionally equivalent alternatives suggested during BOM reviews or component end-of-life transitions; provide electrical characterization data and board-level validation results to the AIS design team.
• Aid in design verification activities for new PCB revisions or product introductions: perform bring-up, functional testing, and regression analysis against previous hardware baselines.
• Act as the local technical contact with design partners or EMS providers during engineering prototype builds (EVT/DVT), gathering build feedback and coordinating issue resolution with Axelera HW engineers.
• Document qualification results, test reports, and design deviation evaluations in Axelera’s PLM/document control system.
• Over 5 years of practical experience in electronic hardware engineering, especially in embedded or system-level PCB design.
• Strong understanding of digital interfaces: PCIe, USB, I2C/SPI/UART, LPDDR at both schematic and signal-integrity levels.
• Skilled in using laboratory instruments: oscilloscope, logic analyzer, power analyzer, JTAG debugger.
• Capable of reading and annotating schematics and PCB layouts.
• Demonstrated experience integrating add-in cards or modules (PCIe, M.2, MXM, or similar) into OEM/ODM host platforms.
• Knowledgeable about mechanical and thermal constraints, including heatsink mounting, TIM selection, chassis airflow, and IEC/JEDEC temperature classifications.
• Understanding of EMC/ESD considerations at both board and system levels.
• Proficient in installing and configuring Linux (Ubuntu/Debian) from the ground up, including kernel module loading and device tree fundamentals.
• Able to follow SDK documentation, execute inference pipelines, and interpret performance outcomes—formal ML/AI expertise is not necessary.
• Familiar with EMS/CM processes: BOM review, first-article inspection, IQC, production testing, and failure analysis workflows.
• Experience in guiding a product through at least one MPI or EVT/DVT/PVT cycle.
• Competitive compensation package
• Pension plan
• Comprehensive employee insurance coverage
• Option to acquire company shares
