Distribution Systems Lead Engineer

📋 Description

• Oversee and direct OSP/ISP, fiber optic, and communication closet engineers and technicians.

• Manage labor for both the Agency and Subcontractors, which includes daily guidance, quality control, performance monitoring, and resolving conflicts.

• Act as the main engineering contact for Government POCs and stakeholders on the base.

• Organize base access, security protocols, installation timelines, materials, and personnel deployment.

• Verify engineering outputs such as drawings, design specifications, reports, and risk assessments.

• Conduct design reviews, planning meetings, and strategic decision-making sessions for DS workstreams.

• Recognize and address engineering risks, design conflicts, and installation issues.

• Assist program leadership with planning execution, reporting, and engaging stakeholders.

• Maintain an expert-level understanding of AF/SF standards, TIA/EA, UFC, I3A, OSP/ISP, CEL requirements, and fiber technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years experience in telecommunications engineering, network infrastructure, OSP/ISP design, or related fields.

• At least 5 years of experience leading multi-discipline engineering teams in field or deployment settings.

• Proven experience in delivering large-scale communications modernization projects for DoD, federal, or large enterprise environments.

• Experience in managing subcontractor labor and agency field teams.

• Knowledge of AF/SF installation procedures, base coordination, and engineering standards.

• Strong expertise in OSP construction, fiber design/testing, and telecommunications room infrastructure.
