This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Influence policy outcomes: Actively shape state and federal hemp beverage regulations prior to their finalization, with an emphasis on packaging standards, DTC frameworks, and market access.
β’ Lead advocacy efforts: Represent Willie's in state-level advocacy initiatives, industry coalitions, trade associations, and regulatory working groups.
β’ Establish strategic partnerships: Build and nurture relationships with state regulators, policymakers, legislative staff, and essential stakeholders.
β’ Formulate policy positions: Develop regulatory comments, white papers, testimonies, and advocacy materials that impact outcomes in key markets.
β’ Monitor and evaluate: Track legislative and regulatory changes across priority states and advise leadership on strategic responses, anticipating shifts rather than merely reporting them.
β’ Maintain industry involvement: Actively engage in trade associations, industry events, and coalitions to remain ahead of political and commercial trends.
β’ Act as an internal authority on state hemp beverage frameworks across both active and expanding markets.
β’ Direct market prioritization and entry strategies based on regulatory feasibility and advocacy opportunities.
β’ Collaborate with product, marketing, legal, and sales teams to incorporate regulatory insights into go-to-market strategies and commercial decisions.
β’ Provide strategic guidance to the compliance function, ensuring alignment with the markets you are entering.
β’ Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
β’ 5-8 years of experience in government affairs or regulatory advocacy within the hemp, cannabis, alcohol, or highly regulated consumer packaged goods sectors.
β’ Willingness to travel 1-2 times per month.
β’ Strong knowledge of the state hemp beverage policy landscape and emerging regulatory trends, including market access and packaging considerations.
β’ Proven success in influencing state-level regulations or legislation across multiple states.
β’ Experience collaborating with executive leadership to guide strategic and commercial decisions.
β’ Capable of making strategic recommendations and providing honest feedback when necessary.
