Director of Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design and execute the organization's IT security strategy, policies, and procedures.

• Perform regular risk assessments and vulnerability evaluations.

• Detect potential security threats and formulate mitigation strategies.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry benchmarks, including GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.

• Create and deliver regular reports to senior management regarding the organization’s IT security stance, insights, recommendations, and metrics.

• Lead a team of cybersecurity experts.

• Oversee compliance, security architecture, and identity management.

• Collaborate across departments with Engineering, IT, and Security teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in Security Leadership.

• More than 10 years of experience in compliance, security engineering, identity management, and security architecture.

• Proven Technical Security Leadership.

• Experience in leading and managing a team of IT security professionals.

• Strong ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical executive audiences.

• Excellent presentation, storytelling, and influencing capabilities.

• Full-time availability is required.

• Nice-to-have: experience managing a security team in a SaaS environment.

• Nice-to-have: experience managing IT in addition to security teams.

• Nice-to-have: security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM.
