This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee a team of more than 20 engineers, focusing on their growth over time, which includes managing managers, nurturing a team of engineers, offering regular feedback, and supporting individual career development through meaningful conversations.
• Work closely with product, design, and engineering leadership to establish objectives that advance the Logs group while aligning with broader business goals. Drive the product vision by actively listening to customer feedback and anticipating market trends.
• Provide direction throughout the project lifecycle, from initial ideation to planning, execution, and post-launch, guiding the team to consistently deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Cultivate a psychologically safe environment where engineers can learn, experiment, and iterate swiftly, fostering innovation and a continuous improvement culture.
• Collaborate across team boundaries by contributing to projects beyond your team's scope and partnering with other functions to address customer challenges.
• An accomplished Director-level engineering manager with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• A proactive self-starter with a strong inclination for action and ownership, capable of navigating uncertainty and propelling work forward in complex problem areas.
• Comfortable working across different time zones and cultures in a fully remote setting, utilizing clear and empathetic communication to build trust, connection, and psychological safety.
• Experienced in mentoring and supporting fellow engineers, leading initiatives or small teams, and collaborating effectively to drive projects toward successful outcomes.
• Proven ability to manage complexity, align stakeholders, and enhance team performance to deliver significant, high-quality results.
• Highly customer-focused, consistently grounding decisions and technical choices in user needs and real-world impact.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems principles, including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, and observability.
• Comfortable with AI-assisted tools. We embrace AI and agentic development, so we expect you to be curious and adept at using AI-powered tools, ideally with practical experience integrating them into a team’s workflow.
