This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +29 more states.
• Lead a geographically dispersed engineering team covering platform/product engineering, connectors, quality assurance, DevOps/infrastructure, AI implementation, data governance, and support.
• Take ownership of delivery, quality, release discipline, and the execution of the technical roadmap.
• Implement engineering best practices where they are lacking: including automated testing, quality assurance, continuous integration/continuous deployment, release governance, and version control.
• Facilitate repeatable, perimeter-safe deployments that encompass containerization, infrastructure-as-code, secure deployment, and readiness for SOC 2 compliance.
• Collaborate with the Chief Architect on the connector framework, canonical metadata model, architectural decisions, and product intellectual property.
• Build and strengthen the team: evaluate current talent, retain high performers, fill skill gaps, and align the team’s objectives with the roadmap.
• Promote practical applications of AI across coding, code reviews, testing, operations, and engineering productivity.
• Proven engineering leadership experience; you have successfully led and expanded teams, managed engineers, overseen delivery, and launched tangible products.
• In-depth technical knowledge in data platforms, metadata, backend systems, or platform engineering; sufficient to gain the respect of experienced engineers.
• Experience in establishing or revamping an engineering function from scratch, particularly in a startup or early-stage setting.
• Background in implementing testing, quality assurance, continuous integration/continuous deployment, release processes, or quality practices where they were previously absent.
• Demonstrated experience in leading distributed or offshore engineering teams across different time zones.
• Knowledge of security and compliance for regulated clients, including SOC 2, audit logging, single sign-on (SSO), data security, or secure deployment practices.
• Strong understanding of AI, with specific examples of its application in your work and across engineering teams.
